HOW IS LIVE RESIN FROM HEMP MADE?
To make CBD live resin from hemp plants, the plants are kept frozen throughout the entire extraction process. This means the plants skip the drying, curing, and trimming phases of traditional harvesting.
CBD live resin is either de-leafed in the field or immediately after cutting the plants down to leave only the hemp CBD flower which contains all of the important compounds that affect taste, aroma, and effect.
After the CBD hemp plants are de-leafed they are immediately frozen so they don’t have the opportunity to dry out. They are kept frozen when transferred to be the machine for extraction.
The standard method of extracting CBD and cannabis is done using plants that are hung to dry after harvest. Once dry the plants are trimmed. This is done by hand for premium extracts or using bulk processing methods like giant trimming and milling machines for bulk distillates. This is a brute process that handles the plant and flower material roughly which further damages the trichomes and causes the plants’ compounds to be lost or minimized. After trimming or milling the hemp or cannabis plants, the material is processed via C02 or Ethanol.
